Straight answers for venue teams
Hotel QR ordering FAQ
The practical questions owners, managers, operations teams and staff ask before introducing digital ordering.
What is hotel QR ordering?
It is a guest ordering journey that begins with a scan at a known room, table or service point. The guest browses and submits in a mobile browser while the operational system carries the destination and order detail to staff.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. QRelia opens in a normal mobile browser. The venue should still keep an accessible alternative for guests who cannot or do not want to scan.
How does QRelia know the room, table or poolside location?
The venue configures areas and locations. Each QR entry point can open the appropriate location, so staff receive a meaningful destination with the order.
Can one venue support rooms, tables, terraces and poolside?
Yes. Different service contexts can be represented as areas and locations rather than forcing the whole property through one generic destination.
Does QRelia require hardware?
No. The software platform works without dedicated hardware. QRelia's connected Ambient Device is optional and belongs on the Premium device-access path.
Does QRelia process guest payment?
The current public plans cover ordering, service coordination and venue management. Guest payment follows the venue's existing process unless a separate payment feature is agreed and enabled.
Can staff control items and availability?
Yes. Venue teams can manage menus, categories, items, modifiers, availability, areas, locations and related service configuration.
Can guests assign items and request courses?
QRelia can keep guest assignment and service preference with the shared order. The Receiver supports course progress while the remaining order stays active.
How are waiting times communicated?
Staff can use the live workflow to set realistic waiting information and progress the order. The guest can follow the status from the same browser journey.
Can the venue make its own QR cards?
Yes. The QR Print Studio produces individual or batch material from configured venue locations and exports finished PDF output.
What reports are available?
QRelia includes live venue views, order history, preparation activity and operational analytics. The exact reporting path depends on the venue account and plan.
Is QRelia suitable for a small boutique hotel?
Yes, particularly where one team serves several rooms, tables or outdoor areas and needs location and order context to remain clear.
How long should implementation take?
It depends on menu complexity, number of locations, internal ownership and testing. A controlled pilot should begin with one defined service rather than an arbitrary deadline.
What happens if the guest Wi-Fi is poor?
Test every launch area on guest Wi-Fi and mobile data, keep pages efficient and document a non-digital fallback. Software does not remove the need for a recovery process.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The public trial lasts fourteen days and lets the venue test its own areas, menus and ordering journey before choosing a plan.
How much does QRelia cost?
Current public pricing is shown on the QRelia pricing page. Check that page for the latest monthly, yearly and optional hardware figures.
